Our representation of executives can often span many years, that they’ll go company to company, have a need for us to review contracts, review other terms that arise in the workplace, or review severance agreements that they’re being asked to sign. We often have long term relationships with many of our executive clients where we’ve helped them navigate through position after position as their career advances.
We also have a unique and deep understanding of all of the different variables in compensation that executives are often provided. It’s not just base salary and the opportunity for sometimes significant bonus, there’s deferred compensation, there’s stock options. There’s all sorts of equity awards in different ways whether they’re restricted stock units, performance stock units, that have their own legal requirements in terms of what you need to understand to advise an executive and to determine whether their rights may be violated in some areas depending on what the employer’s practice is.
We bring that entire breadth of experience to helping our executive clients navigate through every aspect of what are often long and very successful careers.

About Toni Halleen
Toni has practiced employment law since graduating from law school in 1988. The field appeals to her because in our society, our jobs can be core to our identity and well-being. Even in her early years in the 70s and 80s, Toni remembers being drawn to ideals of justice, fairness, and social equality in attending anti-discrimination marches, participating in school activism, and admiring the political satire of the Smothers Brothers (and others).
