Larry Schaefer and Lauren D’Cruz just completed a four-day jury trial in Denver, Colorado federal district court on behalf of a medical device account executive. Last Thursday, October 24, 2019, the jury returned a verdict finding the Defendant, Sorin CRM USA, liable for fraud in the inducement, awarding our client $1.38 MM in damages.
When looking for the right advocate, you need to be sure that your legal counsel is fully prepared to prosecute any legal claims successfully to judgment, if necessary. The attorneys at Schaefer Halleen are always prepared to do just that when a reasonable resolution cannot be achieved by settlement. Our track record in public litigation, including this most recent result, is well-known to defense counsel nationally and locally. This well-established track record ensures that when we advocate for you, the other side will appropriately value the claim(s) at issue, and will usually take the necessary steps to engage in settlement discussions.
When they don’t, you can be confident that we have the necessary expertise to not only fully develop all relevant evidence in litigation, but can proceed to trial (often before a jury) and get the result that vindicates your rights and awards you appropriate damages.
The Bell v. Sorin CRM, USA, case illustrates this advocacy in action, through every step in the litigation process. Our client was deceived into joining this company in the highly competitive cardiac device field, and once she joined the company she learned that Sorin had no contractual access to the hospitals where she had previously sold these life-saving devices in a successful twelve year career. Without this access, she couldn’t work with the physicians in these hospitals to sell and implant these devices, and suffered huge economic loss during her three year contract as a result. The award by the jury established this fraud, and compensated her for this loss.
Schaefer Halleen lawyers have experience in every aspect of the litigation process, including developing a successful strategy in presenting cases to a jury when this is necessary. Our well-established track record of success when litigating can have a dramatic effect on the chances for a favorable resolution early in the process. If this doesn’t occur, you can rest assured that we will be fully prepared to litigate successfully to judgement. Don’t hesitate to contact us for a free consultation if your employment rights have been violated.
